The International Journal of Applied Science and Engineering (IJASE) publishes original research and development in the field of applied science and engineering. The publisher strives to maintain ethical standards with editors, peer-reviewers, and authors. Following are the publishing responsibilities of editors, peer-reviewers, and authors.


Ethical Guidelines for the Publication of Scholarly Articles

Publishing Responsibilities of Editors

  1. Editors are responsible for advising journal scope and making objective decisions on peer-reviewed manuscripts.
  2. Editors evaluate manuscripts for their scientific/intellectual content and academic merit without regard to race, gender, nationality, religion, etc. of the authors.
  3. Editors should not disclose any information pertaining to peer-reviewed manuscripts.
  4. Editors should disclose potential conflicts of interest.
  5. Editors should decline to be involved with editorial duty for submitted manuscripts if they have any association with the authors.

Publishing Responsibilities of Peer-Reviewers

  1. Reviewers are responsible for providing unbiased opinions in a timely manner on the scientific/intellectual content of the manuscript.
  2. Reviewers evaluate the originality, scientific accuracy, and relevance to the IJASE of the submitted manuscripts.
  3. Reviewers should notify the editor of ethical concerns (e.g. plagiarism, fabricated data, inappropriate authorship, ill-treatment of subjects, etc.) of the submitted manuscript.
  4. Reviewers should disclose potential conflicts of interest.
  5. Reviewers should decline to be involved in reviewing duty for submitted manuscripts if they have any association with the authors.

Publishing Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Authors must ensure that the manuscript is original, accurate, and free of plagiarism.
  2. Authors must ensure that the manuscript is not submitted or published elsewhere at the time of submitting to IJASE.
  3. Authors must obtain permission for any content published elsewhere.
  4. Authors should choose the right references and write them accurately to acknowledge other people’s work/ideas.
  5. Authors should declare potential conflicts of interest.
  6. Authors should acknowledge the funding agency in the manuscript.
  7. Authors must specify in their manuscript if their research involves chemicals, procedures, and abnormal equipment that might be hazardous.
  8. Authors should provide IRB Approval documents and informed consent for any study involving human subjects.
  9. Authors should be able to specify the contribution of every author.
  10. Authors should sign the Open Access Licence Agreement for IJASE-accepted manuscripts.
  11. Authors will be required to make corrections if errors or malpractices were pointed out for published articles. The published articles may also be retracted if violating publication or research ethics.
